Don't be afraid to cut open your knitting project! You will learn two different methods for steeks: the decorative fringed steek, which is perfect for shawls, and the tried and tested reinforcement with a crochet hook for stable and durable steek edges.

 And then we work on the elegant "steek sandwich" finish – a particularly clean and professional technique that cleverly conceals the cut edge on cardigans and ensures a perfect finish. This way, you'll overcome any hesitation you might have about cutting open your knitting and gain a valuable technique for many future projects.

Charlotte shows you how to confidently read knitting charts, skillfully combine colors, neatly manage floats, and achieve the correct gauge for perfectly fitting socks. You'll also receive many practical tips on correcting mistakes, weaving in ends, and knitting with two or three colors – in both continental and English knitting styles.

 With Duplicate Stitch – also known as Swiss darning stitch – you can transform knitted stitches into your own personal canvas.  Think everything's been invented when it comes to socks? Prepare to be surprised! In this workshop, you'll learn about the fascinating SoN sock construction: The sock starts with just one stitch and is knitted diagonally so that it fits your foot perfectly.

You'll learn which measurements you need for perfectly fitting SoN socks, get to know different models like GIGI or LOLA, and delve into the special techniques of this construction. It’s happened to everyone. The one thing that can stop your knitting, and cause you to put your projects into a time out – MISTAKES. Never fear simple mistakes again, as you learn how to take control of your knitting. We'll learn how to read your knitting and master the basics that every knitter needs to know, how to unknit, how to pick up a dropped stitch in stockinette, how to fix garter, how to fix a mistake in a stitch pattern such as rib or seed, and how to fix your stitch mounts to avoid twisted stitches. Patty will teach also a few fancy tricks, like picking up a dropped stitch at the end of your row or using a small needle to safely ripdown to. Everyone makes mistakes; now learn that it doesn't have to ruin your knitting!

A sweater that fits perfectly at the shoulders, has enough room at the chest, and still creates a beautiful silhouette? That's exactly what this workshop is about.

 You'll learn which body measurements are truly important and how to adapt knitting patterns specifically to your figure. Together, you'll determine shoulder width, upper bust width, as well as important length measurements, and learn how to achieve an optimal fit using horizontal and vertical bust darts and princess lines. After the course, you will be able to perform the necessary calculations yourself and adjust future tops so that they truly fit you.

 Lace knitting reimagined! In this workshop, you'll discover a modern, graphic approach to lace knitting. Instead of classic lace patterns, you'll create sophisticated lace motifs seamlessly layered onto stockinette stitch.  No visible transitions, no unsightly "stairs" in the stripes – helix knitting allows colors to flow seamlessly into one another. In this workshop, you'll learn the fascinating technique of spiral circular knitting, which creates perfect stripes without any offset. You'll try out 2 different helix methods - the stationary joint and the slip stitch method- , learn the advantages and disadvantages of each variation, and discover which technique is best suited for which project. Together, we'll experiment with multi-row stripes, different color combinations, and even garter stitch patterns in the round. You will look at different cast on options and explore shaping in Helix. After the workshop, you'll have mastered a versatile technique that will give your striped socks, hats, shawls, and sweaters a particularly professional finish.

 The Italian cast-on creates particularly elegant, elastic ribbed edges and a professional finish. In this workshop, you'll learn both the classic method and the variation using waste yarn, and discover when each technique is the best choice for your project—whether you're knitting flat or in the round. Of course, the proper Italian bind-off is also included. Together, we'll practice creating an equally beautiful, elastic edge so that the beginning and end of your knitting fit together perfectly. After this course, you'll have mastered two of the most important professional techniques for high-quality ribbed edges like cuffs, hems and turtle necks and can give your future knitting projects that final touch.

Spinning with a hand spindle for beginners

 In this workshop you will learn hand spinning from scratch. Together, we will spin, unwind, and ply a small skein of wool. The workshop teacher will help you with your first attempts.

Those who do not have a hand spindle and fibers can pre-order a set for the course by email or purchase it directly at the yarn market on the premises.
